Hello, I'm Daniel Romero

Assistant Professor of Data Science & Analytics

Building the next generation of AI systems through deep learning, agent-based intelligence, and resilience engineering

Dr. Daniel Romero

About Me

I am an Assistant Professor in the Data Science and Analytics Master's program at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, where I develop innovative AI systems and intelligent agents at the intersection of deep learning, resilience engineering, and data-driven decision-making.

My research focuses on building resilient AI-human systems that can assess, adapt to, and recover from disruptions. I design autonomous agents capable of monitoring other AI systems, developing frameworks for AI resilience assessment, and creating prescriptive analytics tools that enhance system performance under uncertainty. This work spans applications in healthcare, education, and supply chain management, where I leverage machine learning, agent-based modeling, and optimization to solve complex real-world problems.

Beyond academia, I'm actively engaged in consulting and applied AI research, helping organizations design robust machine learning pipelines, develop intelligent decision support systems, and implement AI solutions that remain dependable even when facing unexpected challenges.
